Thanks to all of the parents who donated goodies and their time to make our Valentine's Day party a success. Thank you also for thinking of me. I appreciate all of the treats! :)
From now until the end of the year, this blog will be our major source of communication. There will be no more newsletters. This is in preparation for 6th grade where students will be responsible for everything themselves(copying homework, writing down test/project due dates, etc.) Of course, you can still send a note or text/call any time.
We began our 5th IB unit, How We Organize Ourselves, last week. This unit's central idea is "Societies are organized around economic, political, and cultural factors." In this unit, we will be discussing colonization. We will further research how global places of interest have developed in these areas over time. In addition to this, we will be studying chemistry.
Next Friday is "Read Across America." We will be spending the entire day, other than specials and PE, participating in some type of reading activity, game, or station.
We will use part of the day just for a read-in. We hope to earn the last two letters so we can wear our pjs and slippers. All of the students are encouraged to participate. They can even bring pillows and blankets. Be sure to bring at least 3 books also.
Finally, we'd like to thank our intern, Miss Cook. Friday will be her last day. :( We have enjoyed our time with you, and we wish you well as you continue this semester with Mr. Little.
Below is a list of concepts we will be studying next week.
Flocabulary Unit 8(test 3/6)
