We will be completing several activities this week. I have changed the schedule a bit from last week. We will not have the timeline quiz, and the TQ project will be completed next Tuesday morning. Both of these were scheduled to be due this week, but there was just too much to complete in one week.
Below is a list of topics of study for the next 1 1/2 weeks.
Language Arts We will finish the book Johnny Tremain.. The 3D projects are due Wed., 12/14. We will show and discuss them on Thurs., 12/15 at 8:30. We will take AR tests on the book on Thurs., 12/15 also.
Math We will be studying basic geometry concepts this week. The students have sample problems and examples they have worked in class to use as a study guide. The quiz will be Thurs., 12/15.
Social Studies We will be studying the major battles of the Revolutionary War this week. The students will complete a research guide on the following battles: Lexington and Concord, Bunker Hill, Saratoga, and Yorktown. Then, they will choose the battle that interests them most and create a project that will be completed in class Tuesday and Wednesday. Details are on my ThinkQuest page. The projects will be presented on Thurs., 12/15..

Hello! We are back to technology this week. Thank goodness for wifi. It's much quicker although sometimes not as reliable. We have lots going on the next two weeks. Please read below to find out more about what we'll be studying, current events, etc.
The students are currently being taxed for talking excessively, leaving the room, going to PE, etc. They have stepped into pre-Revolutionary War times where they are experiencing taxation without representation. This is so much fun! I wish you could have seen their faces when they had to pay me tickets to go to math class. Ha ha!
There are two projects that correlate to Johnny Tremain that are due next week. The requirements/rubrics for both of them are coming home today. The 3D project will be completed at home, and the book review will be completed in class. Both are due Wednesday, December 14th. Late projects are lowered a letter grade for each day they are not turned in. We will share the projects on Thursday, December 15th at 8:30-9:15. You all are invited to attend.
We are bringing our third IB unit, "Who We Are," to a close within the next two weeks. A survey is coming home today that should be completed by someone in your family. It is due Friday, December 9th. We will also send a similar survey to children across the globe via ThinkQuest hoping to get at least one response. This will help us understand more clearly what defines us and our identity. This project will be due Thursday, December 15th.
Language Arts We will be concluding Johnny Tremain and writing book reviews about the story. The students will take AR tests on the book next Thursday, December 15th.
The quiz on the Revolutionary War vocabulary words is Friday, December 9th.
Math We will continue to multiply and divide decimals. There will be a quiz on Thurs., Dec. 8th. Then, we will complete a shopping project.
Social Studies We will study the events that led to the American Revolution. We will create timelines and comic strips(due 12/9). We will also participate in an online simulation *The timelines should be used as a study guide for the Revolutionary War quiz that will be next Thursday, December 15th.
*The Prezi that was assigned in technology should be completed a little each night at home. You will only have one more day in class to work on it. It is due at the end of class on Monday, December 12th.
Science We will continue to study chemistry, the periodic table, etc.

I hope you all received the newsletter that came home this week. If not, check the front pocket of the eagle.
I just realized that this site has been in the incorrect format for almost two weeks. Oooopss! I was trying out some new things, and I didn't realize I saved them. I hope it wasn't too confusing. Have a great weekend!
