*Parents are always welcome in our classroom. Please stop by to visit or have lunch. Remember to get a visitor’s pass first.
*Our classroom blog is one way we will communicate this year, and it will be updated weekly. It will include current topics of study, assignment/project due dates, test dates, and classroom events, etc. Any changes made to the blog will also be written in the agenda.
*Each child will be given an agenda on the first day of school. This is another means of communication. Please look for it daily. **It is the responsibility of the students to copy the assignments for each class at the end of the day. Please encourage your child to complete the assignments given which will help review the day’s work and prepare them for the next day. Your child will also record his/her daily conduct on this page.
**The conduct scores range from 1-5 with 5 being excellent, 4 being good, 3 being average, 2 being poor, and 1 being unacceptable. All students begin each day on a 3. Then, they progress up or down the scale based on behavior.**
*Grades will be sent home every other week in a graded paper folder. Please review/discuss the papers with your child, sign the insert, and return the folder to school the following day. Please keep the papers for your records. *There is a place on the insert for any questions/comments that you may have.
*Absences are sometimes necessary, but please keep them to a minimum. We cover a lot of material that can add up quickly. It is the responsibility of the student to get any missed assignments and turn them in within 3 days of the absence.
*Please have your child at school on time. Arriving late or checking out early disturbs other students and valuable class time is lost.
*We use many items as rewards for the students. If your child would like to make a donation to our treasure chest, it would be greatly appreciated. We can use any type of cool pencils, erasers, small notepads, keychains, etc.
*Grades will be taken across the curriculum from projects, center activities, quizzes, cooperative group work, tests, writing assignments, etc. Assessment days will be staggered so the students do not get overwhelmed.
*It is important for us to work together for your child to have a meaningful learning experience. If you have any questions or concerns and would like to schedule a conference, please send a note, call 759-3655 and leave a message, or e-mail me at email@example.com.
